Our Code of Conduct
• Follow the laws and regulations for 4WD vehicles, which can differ between states.
• Respect others. Avoid noisy driving, riding near settlements or close to general recreation areas.
• Keep to approved vehicle corridors and tracks. On beaches and unvegetated sand areas, drive only where permitted.
• Avoid alpine areas, swamps and vegetated dunes, which are easily damaged.
• Respect our wildlife. Stop and look, but never disturb or chase animals. It can affect their survival.
• Keep the environment clean. Carry your own - and maybe other peoples' - rubbish home.
• Follow all fire restrictions. Extinguish your campfire fully before leaving. Don't let your exhaust emit sparks or ignite undergrowth.
• Respect use restrictions and track closures on public lands, national parks and conservation areas.
• Get permission before driving on private land. Leave livestock alone and gates as you found them.
• Keep your vehicle maintained and quiet with an efficient muffler.
• Take adequate supplies (water, food, fuel, first aid, tools and spares) on all trips and let someone know your plans.
• In remote areas, always travel with another vehicle and carry an emergency communications device. (EPIRB, satellite phone, satellite communicator, …)
• Be aware of bushfire and weather risks. Help in emergencies, if you are able.
• Join a 4WD club and learn how to travel offroad safely and responsibly.
